Is Working From Home Ideal?

It is no secret that the working culture has changed ever since the COVID-19 pandemic struck. Employees have begun working remotely instead of going to their office everyday. However, the question remains. Is working from home ideal?

In my opinion, working from home is certainly an ideal option and here’s why:

Flexibility

Working from home allows you to have a flexible schedule. As long as you complete your tasks for the day and meet all your deadlines, it does not matter what time you start or end your work. Basically, you can just work at your own pace!

However, if your employer requires you to work a 9-5 shift, you can still take breaks whenever you need them. The best part is, you can do whatever you like during your break time, which you probably could not have done if you were back in your office.

For instance, you could take a power nap, or break into some dance moves in order to get yourself energized!

Saves time and money

As working from home does not require any travelling, you would be saving a lot of your time and money. This is because you do not need to commute back and forth from your home to your office.

Besides travelling, it is more convenient to have your meals at home too. For instance, you do not need to walk or drive to a restaurant for lunch as you could prepare something simple and easy at home.

Plus, cooking at home would save you a lot of money too as home-cooked meals are always cheaper and healthier, rather than eating at restaurants.

Increased productivity

Employees would be able to work more efficiently, as they would feel more comfortable at their own homes. For example, they can work on a sofa, bed or even customize their own workspace to achieve maximum comfort.

Furthermore, productivity levels would definitely increase as it would be quieter and the best part is, you can work in your comfy PJs rather than the typical office wear and nobody would judge you!

Promotes Independence

Since you would be working alone, it will ultimately lead you to be more independent. Yes, working in your comfy PJs is not the only benefit of working remotely.

Instead, you will learn how to stay motivated, disciplined, and focused while working from home, which promotes independence.

Lastly, if there are minor tasks that you are unsure of, you would learn to figure them out yourself rather than asking your coworker that usually sits beside you in the office. This may not seem like a big deal, but it is a small step towards being independent.

Final Thoughts:

In conclusion, working from home is an ideal option from my perspective. I would not deny that there may be some disadvantages to it, but I believe that the pros outweigh the cons. Hopefully, all of us will get to see the brighter side of working from home as it will definitely motivate us and keep us on our toes!
