Genre: Romance, Comedy

Runtime: 2h 5min

This R-rated rom-com flick stars Seth Rogen and Charlize Theron in the lead roles. A journalist by the name of Fred Flarsky reunites with his childhood crush, Charolette Field. She then decides to hire Fred as a speechwriter when she prepares to make a run for presidency.

Charlize Theron is fantastic here, she shows us her range as an actress, swinging from drama to comedy in a glimpse of an eye. Seth Rogen as usual is likable and hilarious as the speechwriter on the job.

Both Fred and Charlotte seem like an unusual couple, but due to its clever writing and chemistry shared between both characters, Long Shot proves that it’s a great film to catch on date night!

Genre: Drama

Runtime: 1h 46min

Half Nelson stars Ryan Gosling as Dan Dunne, an inner-city junior high school teacher who suffers from a drug habit and forms a friendship with one of his students after she discovers his secret.

Half Nelson is an incredible drama and a huge part of why it’s so special is because of Gosling’s nuanced performance as Dan which earned him his first Oscar nomination. Anthony Mackie also stars in the film as Frank in the supporting role.

Screenwriter and director, Ryan Fleck produces some of his best work as he tackles some of Half Nelson’s dark elements with the utmost respect.

Do check out this heartfelt drama!
